Mary Forbes, a married woman from Philadelphia visits relatives in Rome. Whilst there she becomes friendly with a man named Giovanni and the two have a month long romance. Mary grows guilty of her infidelity and decides to head back home to her husband and daughter, without a word to Giovanni. Whilst boarding the train she notice’s him on the platform, but can he win back her affection?
